post Tamales

I guess I got burned out of Tamales. . . But was very pleased when I went back for Lunch this week. I had the Sour Cream Chicken yada yada, number 6 from the lunch menu. Chips good, salsa good, but could be hotter for my tastes. Iced tea flowed freely without my having to ask. Good service, and good food. Only complaint I would have is, it’s on the noisy side.

One of the more interesting places to eat in Sulphur Springs. Cathy and her family serve a great buffet and without fail are glad to see you come in. Since the first time I ate there years ago, she and her son Jimmy have always greeted me by name. That form of attentiveness is pretty rare in this end of the country. Having eaten at many oriental buffets, I’ve come to appreciate the China House offerings. They are never dry on the buffet, unlike some, and usually are covered in a rich appropriate gravy. I’d recommend the restaurant to anyone.

I ate supper there last night, a Thursday. As always, good food and great service. I tried the new enchilada soup for the first time. It was great. Hats off to Tamales for a wonderful addition to their fine offerings.

Sandi’s food is the best. I could eat her soup every day.

A great place to eat and a fun place to visit. It is always good to eat at the Mala house.
