Site & Review Help (Please Start Here)

Start here: Anyone is welcome to browse the site. If you wish to write a review, you are asked to register. Please be aware that all reviews or comments are reviewed for content before being posted.

Registration and Login: You must be registered and logged in to write comments and reviews. Site administration is on the right side at the bottom. Click the appropriate link. If you are registering we send your password immediately. If there is any delay, it is with your ISP or email provider. This should not take but a few minutes. On your initial registration, you are taken to your profile page. Make any corrections and click save.Thereafter, logging in takes you to your dashboard.

Logging In: All registered users are directed to the site dashboard after logging in. If you would like to leave a review from the dashboard, click on “write a post” and a familiar form will appear. Use the title line for the name of the restaurant and its location. Put the review below in the large text box and click save. You can access your review and make changes to it anytime up until it is published. Click the write tab next to the dashboard tab to access your draft reviews. They will appear on the line above the review form. Click your draft, make the changes and click save. At anytime you may click “View site” at the top to go directly to the main site.

Site navigation is very straight forward, but if you get lost, clicking on the “Restaurant Review Logo” at the top will always return you to the home page. There is also a home button in the lower left corner of every screen. From the site main page clicking “site admin” in the lower right hand corner will take you to your personal dashboard.

On our site some of the words and terms appear to be synonymous and can be used interchangebly. This is not the case. I’ll try and explain here what the terms mean in the context of this site. The terms are “review, comment and message.” I’ll start with the easiest, the word message.

Message: On the top menu bar you will see the words “Leave Maude a Message.” Click the words and a familiar email form opens. Fill it in, click send message and Maude will answer as soon as she can. No muss, no fuss.

Reviews: Click on “Site Admin” if you are logged in and you will be directed to your dashboard. Write your review and click save. For more review help see “Step by Step” on the top menu bar. All reviews are routed to the site admin for review. they are checked for tone, content and objectionable material. If they are OK, it is posted immediately in the appropiate category with credit to the sender. If it is not, we’ll clean it up if we can and then post it. If not, no apologies, it goes into the trash. Even if the review is negative, it can be done politely.

Comment: Again a simple one. Below each review, you will see the words “no comments.” or the word comments and a number which indicates the number of comments on file. If you are registered, click on it and you are allowed to comment on the review that you just read. Again it is reviewed first and then posted under comments for this review if appropiate. Most reviews that are done by our staff have the commenting function turned off.

Online Discussion: It is not my intent to foster ongoing discussions thru comments. Since your review is the comment no more discussion is necessary. If you disagree with a review, the appropiate response would be to write your own review of the restaurant. You may however, leave Maude a comment.
